We left the Charlottesville campground around 10:15 and only stopped to fuel up, again eating sandwiches that Jane had prepared along the way. Much of the driving was along I-81, one of our nation’s truckiest highways. After traveling through Virginia and West Virginia and finally entering Pennsylvania, it was a relief to exit this busy interstate highway at the Newville exit. The rural roads were a pleasure to drive as they wound up and down through scenic fields and forests of rural PA. We arrived at our destination, Little Buffalo State Park, a little before 4 pm.
After setting up the RV at Site 36, we sought refuge from the afternoon heat inside our air-conditioned motorhome. We enjoyed Happy Hour and played several board games before taking a short walk around the campground. We then drove the toad to Holman Lake (in the park on the other side of the highway) and explored the boat dock, swimming pool and abundant picnic areas. After returning to our motorhome, we ate dinner and settled in for a peaceful evening.
