On the Move |
This morning the skies had cleared and the temperatures warmed. We headed out to travel across Nova Scotia to a campground in Amherst near its western border with New Brunswick (about 270 miles). On the way out of Cape Breton Island, we skirted the coast of Bras d’Or Lake with beautiful views. We ate sandwiches and chips for lunch without stopping. After about 3.5 hours, we stopped for fuel west of New Glasgow and Jane took over driving for the remaining 1.5 hours. We set up at Loch Lomond RV Park next to a friendly family from New Brunswick. Jane and I took a brief bike ride around the campground then settled down outside in our lawn chairs to enjoy the sunny skies and warm temperatures. We summarized our Canadian purchases and prepped for crossing the U.S. border into Maine tomorrow.
