The temperature was in the mid 40s with rain as we departed the North Shore this morning on our way back to Forest City, Iowa, to pick up our motorhome. In north Duluth, we jumped on I-35 S that took us all the way into Iowa. After a couple of hours of driving, the front had moved to the east of us and the skies started to clear. And the temperature began climbing as we progressed south. We took a break and refueled in Barnum before proceeding through St. Paul, eventually stopping for lunch in Faribault. Jane drove the entire 315 miles of our journey.
We arrived in Forest City around 3 pm and immediately dropped into Lichtsinn to check out the RV. The temperture had climbed to 84 degress. Our friendly assistant, Cade, that Jane has been communicating with about our service, accepted our payment, then walked out to our View with us. Cade demonstrated how the new leveling system works (yah!) and we checked out the new batteries and solar panels. We left our View plugged in at the Lichstinn parking lot ready for tomorrow’s journey. (Jane was pleased that the food in the refrigerator/freezer appeared good and was cold/frozen.)
We drove the short distance from Lichtsinn to the Cobblestone Inn, checked-in, and relaxed in our room for awhile. For dinner, we walked across the street to Shooters Sports Bar & Grill. After dinner, we walked back to our hotel room and watched television until bedtime, eager to continue our journey home tomorrow reunited with our improved motorhome.
