A Long Travel Day

Tuesday, June 7, 2022

Today was the longest travel day of our trip. We spent seven hours on the road including stops and covered 350 miles. Upon crossing the Mississippi River this morning, we rolled out of the Show Me State (MO) into the Land of Lincoln (IL), then crossed the Hoosier State (IN) before reaching our destination in the Bluegrass State (KY). We ate all three meals in our motorhome today, breakfast in Missouri, lunch in Indiana, and dinner in Kentucky.

We’re now set up in Site 36 at the Horse Cave KOA alongside I-65. We were both weary of traveling so spent the evening playing games and working a small 300-piece jigsaw puzzle while streaming relaxing classical music. I have recovered from my sore throat/head cold but unfortunately, Jane is now afflicted. (We both tested negative for Covid.) We’re hoping to get some sound sleep tonight in preparation for an active day of spelunking tomorrow.
