Mo’ Travelin’

Monday, April 22, 2024

Today, we hit the road before 9:00 am and travelled for about seven hours completing the longest leg of our westward journey yet, about 450 miles. We continued along I-40 traversing the western third of Tennessee, the width of Arkansas, and our first 25 miles into Oklahoma. The weather was perfect with cloudless blue skies. Jane drove for a short segment and we stopped twice, at the attractive Arkansas Welcome Center and later to fuel-up the RV.

Our site (#8) at the Sallisaw / Fort Smith W. KOA Holiday is again a level pull-through one so that we left the car hitched to facilitate leaving tomorrow. The site features a paved sidewalk, a patio, and wooden table. After relaxing awhile and playing a card game on our motorhome’s dinette table, we took a walk around the campground and ended up in the rec room playing air hockey and Ms. Pac-Man. How retro! Back in our motorhome, Jane made a delicious supper of leftover eggplant parmesan with greens and a salad. We’re winding down now and I’m suspicious that it will be an early bedtime tonight.
