We’re Off

We finally embarked on our adventure around 10:30 am following more scurrying around and more help from Will. Jane decided to appropriately initiate our trip by dropping a table from the overhead storage area on my head before we were even out of our neighborhood! That smarted but after awhile, things settled down to normalcy. Every time I looked at the rear view camera feed, we were being followed by a little blue car with two bikes.

The driving went smoothly. We ate lunch in the RV at the Virginia Welcome Station and made one stop to refuel. The last 1.5 hrs of driving went through beautiful rural areas of WV & MD including some very narrow roads and one-way bridges. After 386 miles and 8:15 hours, we arrived at our destination, The 1812 Brewery near Cumberland, MD. The brewery was closed and the owner was leaving to go out for dinner, so we had the place to ourselves. We ate a light dinner with beer that we had brought with us in the outside beer garden shielded from light rain showers. Frogs serenaded us, especially as the showers began. It’s so remote and peaceful and we’re surrounded by the gentled croaking of the frogs as I blog from the RV. Time to head to bed. Goodnight.
