Today was the shortest travel day of our trip (about 1.5 hours) and we received an email from our destination campground to not arrive before 2 pm. So, we dallied over breakfast and reading not departing the Horse Cave KOA until a little after 11 am.
We headed south and after rolling out of Kentucky, stopped at the Tennessee Welcome Center where we collected maps and brochures. Then, shortly after returning to the interstate, we pulled off again to visit the Sumner Crest Winery. There, we sampled a flight of their two driest red and two driest white wines. We also bought some cheese, a sleeve of crackers and a Kentucky Bourbon Butter Cake. We were seated at a cozy table on the covered front porch and were provided plates, utensils, and a bottle of water. There, we enjoyed a casual light lunch although we weren’t very impressed with the wines that we sampled.

After our deliberate diversions, we eventually arrived at the Nashville North KOA in Goodlettsville at 2 pm as instructed. Lo and behold, so did many fellow campers. Jane eventually got us checked in and a young lady driving a bright yellow golf court escorted us to our campsite at the corner of Bluegrass Road and Honky Tonk Row.
Once we had hooked up the utilities and settled in, Jane washed our clothes at the campground laundromat. We then rested before heading out for dinner at an Indian restaurant with a parking lot under a ramp of the interstate. Our meals were excellent and I stuffed myself although we still had plenty of leftovers for a future meal. Back at our motorhome, we watched tv and read before retiring.
