This morning, following a leisurely breakfast, we headed to the southern end of the Conewago Recreation Trail. This is a short five-mile long trail that connects to the longer 18-mile Lebanon Valley Rail-Trail. Interestingly both trails are part of the September 11 National Memorial Trail that links memorial sites at the Pentagon, Flight 93, and the World Trade Center.
We rode the entire Conewago Trail and 1.2 miles of the Lebanon Trial for a round-trip of 12.4 miles. The trail was mostly straight and mostly level with several well-designated road crossings. Most of the trail was partly shaded and offered nice views of farmland and forests. Many fellow bikers were out enjoying a Sunday morning jaunt but the trail was not overcrowded. After our ride, we returned to the campground to shower and change clothes.

After freshening up, we drove about 45 minutes to Ephrata to visit Nancy & John. John experimented with cooking hamburgers (and veggie burgers) in his smoker. Jane brought a freshly-made fruit salad and Nancy prepared potatoes and added other accoutrements for a tasty dinner. And, of course, a couple of bottles of wine were involved. We visited with four of their five indoor cats, Vinne, Scrappy, Mushu, and Lucho. And, after dinner, on the back patio with a nice view we watched several feral cats that Nancy and John were feeding tentatively hang out near us. After a pleasant visit, we departed and arrived back at the motorhome a little after 9 pm.
