Home Again

Sunday, September 11, 2022

It’s hard to believe we’ve arrived at the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on our nation. On one hand, the shock of that horrible day is still fresh in the minds of those of us who were alive then, but on the other hand, so much history and living has transpired since then. Imagine, today’s freshmen university students were born after that nation-shaking event. I am grateful to all those who responded to help during the aftermath of those horrific attacks and to the Spontaneous Heroes of Flight 93 who gave their lives to prevent additional sorrow and devastation to our country.

This morning, we packed and unhooked the RV under drizzly conditions. We made it to trucky I-81 heading south around 11 am. The traveling went well with on an off light rain and we arrived home around 3:45 pm. All was well upon arrival; no catastrophic storm damage occurred as happened on a previous trip.  Our house sitter, Will, left everything in good shape and Zorro welcomed us home with lots of purring.

Although we had previously travelled much of this 1,418-mile-long route, we enjoyed the detours for new sites and adventures as well as the opportunities to visit with family along the way .

But, it’s good to be home again for awhile. We’ll sign off until our next trip.

Happy Trails,
Rambling Jane & John
